Unspoken words, whispered, denied, never heard. You can find them in the feeble thrill of the mysthic atmosphere of antonio Pasquale Prima’s rooms. Paintings in which large windows and wide open doors let the light in, this being the main character and the truth teller. It at times shows up warm and gentle, others darker and uncanny.
The artist, meticulous and sensitive, finds his inspiration in the metaphysical dimension of Giorgio De Chirico, trying to reach the unflappable static nature of Giorgio Morandi, without ever detaching from the depth of perspective.
Prima avoids deceptions and uproars, vulgar sounds and impetuous gestures, altered lights and blinding colours in order to capture eternal moments of silence and sights.
Antonio Pasquale Prima was born in Bari in 1985. He begins to study arts in his native city: he attended “Pino Pascali” Art School learning programme of Architecture and Furnishings, combining his studies with autonomous experimentations of tempers and oils. This passion for visual arts led him to attend the Academy of Fine Arts in Bari.
Currently he lives and works in Valenzano, where he concentrates fully on painting and teaching in his bottega. He has realised a portrait for the movie “La Migliore Offerta” (2013) directed by Giuseppe Tornatore and he has taken part to a large number of exhibitions.
